Beaker and Gray brings modern tapas that will take your tastebuds around the world and back. The polished new restaurant has created a name for itself on N. Miami Ave. and has set a culinary caliber for Wynwood. The menu may be limited but not when it comes to flavor.
Happy hour is a popular time for Beaker and Gray as you can enjoy an array of cocktails and wine for half the price. As I sipped on Rosé, I asked the bar tender for an appetizer that would pair well with the wine. Although he recommended EVERYTHING, the Ricotta dish appealed to me the most, and it was exquisite! Accompanied with Zak the Baker bread, creamy ricotta, juicy citterio chorizo, and topped with sweet fig. The dish creates the most palatable medley of flavors!
It was love at first sight when I spotted “uni butter” on the menu. Uni is the Japanese word for Sea Urchin, and it is typically served raw. Uni butter has been an up and coming addition to many modern dishes. My second favorite thing about this dish was that it was a risotto. It is one of their bigger dishes and I would suggest to share it. I consider risotto a speciality of my own, so I enjoy trying different recipes. To top it off, it was garnished with meaty tiger shrimp and succulent beech mushrooms which mingled nicely with the creamy grain.
Beaker and Gray is a great place for after work drinks or a romantic date. The cosmopolitan menu will leave your date impressed 😉 !
